Covid-19 Safety

Covid-19 Safety Precautions for Face to Face Sessions

I am returning to some face-to-face sessions with clients from Monday 3 August. As long as Covid 19 remains an active public health threat Talking It Over will be taking some precautions to provide protection for both my clients and myself for face to face work.

My commitment to clients

  • I will conduct a written risk assessment that will be updated on a regular basis.
  • All clients will need to sign a covid-19 consent form in advance of face-to-face sessions.
  • For new clients, all paperwork will need to be signed online in advance of starting therapy.
  • If I or anyone in my household feels unwell, or are displaying any of the coronavirus symptoms, I will inform you immediately and either rearrange your appointment or offer an online session instead.
  • I will follow all regulatory requirements relating to social distancing. Maintaining a minimum of 1+ metre at all times whilst using personal protective equipment (PPE) which in my case will be a face visor, or 2m+ when not using PPE.
  • I will wash my hands prior to every session.
  • I will open the door to the main house, garden and therapy room for you at the beginning and end of the session. I will also offer you hand sanitiser at the main door entrance when you arrive and in the therapy garden office.
  • Where possible and if confidentiality allows, I will keep a window open during the session. I will also air out the therapy room between sessions.
  • I will no longer provided any water, tea or coffee to drink, so ask that you bring your own bottle of water if you wish.
  • I will no longer supply tissues and I now encourage clients to bring their own.
  • The toilet in my main house will no longer be available to clients unless it is an emergency. The toilet will be cleaned before and after clients attend sessions in case it has to be used.
  • I will provide a bin for tissues and make sure it is emptied between clients. I will take appropriate measures to prevent you or myself coming into contact with the contents. Ideally, I would prefer if you to take your tissues home and dispose of them yourself.
  • I will no longer provide pens, so if you wish to write something down please ensure you bring your own.
  • I will wipe down door handles, office equipment and furniture every day with antibacterial cleaner. I will also spray antibacterial cleaner over soft furnishings between clients.
  • I will not be able to accept cash payments. I will accept card payments and wipe down the card machine before and after use. Ideally, I prefer if you pay by card online in advance or directly into my bank account - bank details will be supplied on your invoice. If you are an insurance or EAP client, this does not apply.
